Moving Projects Forward

The IPMA International Project Excellence Award is annually awarded to the most successful project teams in the world. The award identifies examples of excellent project management and acknowledges innovative projects. It supports professional project management in achieving high performance in projects and motivates project teams to identify and optimize the use of their strengths. The assessment process is based on the IPMA Project Excellence Model.

The Award was presented for the first time at the IPMA World Congress in Berlin in 2002.

Project Excellence is a system of project awards, and also serves as a benchmark for improving project work. All award applicants receive an individual, detailed written benchmark report from a team of qualified and experienced project experts in leading positions. The benchmark report shows strengths in project management and indicates areas for project improvement.

Individual Awards recognise one fact: Successful projects require successful people. In support of this assertion, in addition to honoring each year’s wealth of Project Excellence candidates, IPMA honours individuals in a several key categories. These categories include awards with IPMA Research , IPMA Achievement Awards and Young Crew Boards, to Move Winners Forward.

Success Stories: IPMA Awards has many success stories to tell, but some are only shared between the winners and their suppliers vendors and partners. Why? Because the factors that IPMA recognises are viewed as competitive advantage. Some of the success stories are broadly praised, by regional and national governments. Has your Project Success story been shared yet?
