The Otto Zieglmeier Award is presented in recognition of major contribution to the development, promotion and support of Project Excellence through the IPMA International Project Excellence Awards. It was awarded for the first time at the IPMA World Congress in Rome in 2008.
The Otto Zieglmeier Award Winner is nominated every year by the IPMA VP Award, Chairman of Award Management Board and Award Office Manager and selected by IPMA Project Excellence Award Jury at the 2nd Jury meeting during the PE Award assessment process.
Mr. Otto Zieglmeier was the founder of IPMA International Project Excellence Award. He introduced also the Project Excellence Award on National Level in several countries. Mr. Otto Zieglmeier was a Vice President of IPMA, Board Member of GPM, Chairman of the IPMA International Project Management Board, Member of the Jury for the German PM Award, IPMA International PE Award Assessor Trainer and Team Lead Assessor, Marketing Project Leader of the IPMA World Congress 2002 Berlin, Project Manager of the GPM German PM Congress 2003, Chairman of Advisory Board of the IPMA World Congresses in Shanghai 2006 and Cracow 2007, Assessor of the EFQM SME European Quality Award, Licensed Trainer in German & English for Project Management, Serious Creativity Thinking (E. de Bono) and MindManager.
Otto had a real passion for extending the international project management community and personally successfully spread the concept through active involvement in Eastern Europe, China, India and the Middle East.
