Samuli Karjalainen (Finland), IPMA Young Crew Chairman
Samuli Karjalainen was born in Finland, commonly known as “the forest”, where 70% of the country is covered in pine and spruce trees. Previously, Sam has worked for a software development company as a coder and operator where he focused on marketing and selling products to different clients. In 2003, he became an entrepreneur and founded “Momentti Ltd.” with a few of his friends. Today, Momentti is part of the ForestAgency with a staff of 15 employees working in the fields of marketing, professional events, and training/coaching.
Sam is an experienced project manager who has worked on a variety of projects both large and small. He served as the project manager for the 23rd IPMA World Congress — 2009 in Helsinki, Finland, and successfully delivered the project to completion. Sam has also previously managed smaller projects for the IPMA World Congress, and continues to participate in marketing and advertising.
Friends, colleagues, and family refer to Sam as “Forestman”.

Maria Simek (Austria), IPMA Young Crew Corporate Partnership
Maria Simek works as a Junior Consultant at next level Consullting Österreich GmbH – an Austrian consulting company specialised in the field of project and process management. Her main tasks are to deliver trainings on project management methods and she is specialised on project management software tools. The level D certified project manager graduated in Business administration at Fachhochschule Vienna / Austria and University of Management in Kaunas / Lithuania.
More international experience she collected as personal assistant of Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik at Malik Managementzentrum St. Gallen / Switzerland and in several internships in Germany and Slovakia during her studies. Beside her job she voluntary works as the chairman of pma young crew the Austrian community for young project managers. In this funtion she is organizing several events and workshops and tries to enlarge the network of young motivated project managers.

Estuardo Calderón (Germany), IPMA Young Crew Development
Estuardo Calderón was born and raised in Guatemala and has been living abroad for the last 8 years, mainly in Germany and Brazil. He studied International business with a focus on project management and international cooperations. He is a PhD Candidate on the topic of Social Innovation and researches how competences from the International Project Management Association (IPMA) can be adapted to social entrepreneurship. He is a board member of the German Project Management Association’s Young Crew, and since January 2011 also from the Global Young Crew Management Board.
His other interests include music (brazilian percussion), arts (fire juggling), design (fotography, Design thinking), facilitation and languages, which comes handy when working in multidisciplinary teams. His favourite project at the moment is the organisation of a series of workshops in Australia in October 2011.

Luca Cavone (Italy), IPMA Young Crew Membership
Coordination
Luca Cavone works as Consultant for an Italian-Japanese Management Consulting Company being employed in the Innovation Management Division. After his Master of Science in Electronic Engineering he attended a Master Degree in Project Management at MIP Business School of Politecnico di Milano. Before joining consultancy, Luca has worked several years in Industry, leading projects in Space & Defense market.
He is IPMA Certified Project Management Associate Level D. Luca joined the IPMA family in 2009 being one of the founders of IPMA YC Italy, and holding Chairman position until March 2011. Since the start-up, YC Italy reached a level of maturity shortly and Luca has been very active in all YC activities and events both on national and international level introducing new innovative ideas. He was also in the team that conceived creACTivity workshops, and organized such event in Milan. Luca is currently Member of Italian Project Management Academy (Italian MA) and part of its Management Board as VP for of the website.

Glória Costa (Portugal), IPMA Young Crew Marketing
Glória Costa is a Portuguese Communication designer, graduated at Fine Arts Faculty of Lisbon University. She is a member of the International Project Management Association Young Crew (IPMA YC) Management Board and President of Young Crew Portugal, actively collaborating with several Young Crews, and collaborating with several international projects such as Coaching for Development and creACTivity workshops.
She worked with the SocialDesignSite.com project, SEgroup.de consultancy and as a graphic designer promoting dialogue between various cultures, ethnicities and religions with the Portuguese High Commission for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue. She has been involved with EU programmes on anti-discrimination and Human Rights, and recently has created the content and designed the layout for a set of activities on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
She has studied Design Thinking at HPI School of Design Thinking in Potsdam, Berlin, and is currently working as a graphic designer and doing consultancy.
Her interests are in the ares of video, photography, theatre and oriental dance.

Dr. Daniel Collado-Ruiz (Spain), IPMA Young Crew Innovation
Dr. Daniel Collado-Ruiz works as a researcher at the Universidad Politècnica de Valencia, in Spain. Holding a Ph.D in Development, Sustainability, and Ecodesign, he has worked in projects related to design for sustainability and life cycle assessment in the packaging, toy, and electronic sectors in the reserach group Integration of Design & Environmental Assessment (ID&EA). Daniel has also conducted research in ecoinnovation, sustainability, creativity and distributed teamwork, and given lectures at different universities around the world.
In parallel to these achievements, Daniel often takes off his academic hat to chair AEIPRO Joven and organize workshops in and for the International Project Management Association (IPMA). He is passionate about fostering networking capabilities, learning more and more each day, and challenging those that say “it is impossible”. Through this network, Daniel has been involved in Coaching for Development as the project manager, has actively participated in the start-up and organization of the creACTivity workshops, and was co-lead in the organization of the Young Crew Workshop during the IPMA World Congress in Istanbul in 2010.
